Notes from a Track and Field Day

For "Next Time"
1. Counsel the snack shack to leave the enormous containers of ketchup and mustard inside the shack. If they are out on a table students will indeed steal them and have a condiment fight inside the boy's washroom.
2. Look on the measuring tape to see where "0" starts so that you don't have to add 30 cm to everyone's jump length at the end.
3. Learn how to actually do the triple jump before students ask for your advice on technique.
4. Advise teenage girls that they do indeed need to wear shoes.
5. BAN all selling of those ice cream Dibs. They make convenient melty bullets.
6. Pray that all children will be clones of "the good one" for the day. Pray hard.
7. Have a better answer for those kids who say " Who are you? I don't have to listen to you"
8. Volunteer to be the one who shoots the starter's pistol!
9. Note to self: Wearing contacts, sunglasses, a ponytail, and jeans causes students to lose their minds and forget who you are. However, this is convenient for catching them doing something they shouldn't.
10. Advise student helpers to lay the rake sharp side down so that participants do not step on it like a cartoon character and nail themselves in the head... again.
